This blog has been created for Lakes residents in Hollywood, Florida to voice their opinions and concerns about excessive vehicular volume, speeding, stopsign running, and the construction project that is making a bad situation even worse. Hopefully our local politicians will read the concerns of the same people that voted them into office. We want action!!!

Who is really in charge of the Hollywood Blvd Reconstruction Project?
Who is really in charge of the Hollywood Boulevard Reconstruction Project? FDOT? City of Hollywood? The City says that it is FDOT. I cannot believe that FDOT can do whatever it pleases without the approval of the City of Hollywood. Especially that this neighborhood is a historic neighborhood. Didn't the Historic Preservation board have to approve the Hollywood Boulevard Reconstruction Project? Oh...I forgot, the realtors, architects, and contractors who represent the Lakes homeowners are probably on the payroll from FDOT and all of the contractors working on the project.

Be aware that FDOT is funded by tax revenues from the sales of vehicular fuels. The conspire to "constrict" traffic, such that the maximum number of vehicles burn fuel simply to increase the amount of money they have available, to pay out in the form of kickbacks to the bureaucratic hypocrites in city gov. Consider the prolonged logjam at the drawbridges and how the bridge tenders draw out the length of time that traffic is stalled unnecessarily, for just one miniscule example of the atrocious waste of fuel and pollution of the air we breathe just so FDOT has more money to dole out...
